With this lovely Georgian house as the backdrop and magnificent grounds, Barnston Lodge is the perfect setting for a marquee wedding reception or corporate event. It is tranquil and timeless and epitomises rural England.
Barnston Lodge is a family home where guests are made to feel welcome and relaxed at once. The house and gardens are surrounded by paddocks with grazing horses and mixed farm land.
Particular features of this venue are the extensive grounds and gardens, with their ancient trees and lovely old-fashioned roses, the unusual Summer House, originally a "Brew House" which has a huge, stone fireplace as well as electricity and other services, and also the lake, which is a haven for wildlife with rare black swans, guinea fowl and ducks. The lake has a pretty jetty, a perfect location for waterside pictures. The stone steps of the main house are excellent for group family photographs and lead down to large, flat lawns.
Barnston Lodge has featured in several TV and film dramas including Lovejoy and is available for hire as a film location.

Barnston Lodge is located to the south of Great Dunmow, just off the A130. It is situated on a quiet country lane and is close to Barnston Church. The house and gardens are surrounded by paddocks with grazing horses and amazing views and can be reached via a drive which sweeps past the house.
